: my husband has a problem!
C Schu's wife Aug 20th, 99, 2:35 PM OK. I know all of you are die hard fans of this site but my husband does not neet to be encouraged by you guys. It is like giving an alcoholic a taste of tequila. He visits this site daily and always wants to either buy a new car or buy another part for his Chevelle. Please do not encourage him anymore! We now have 5 cars, 3 are running and now y'all are encouraging him to buy a Camaro. I am now seeking therapy for the man. Thanks for your cooperation : )

cSchu Aug 20th, 99, 3:25 PM Now how did this happen?
I admit it... I gotta problem. I'm addicted to cars... 'specially Chevys. What can I do? I guess I gotta feed the need...
Gonna have to go and burn the road up tomorrow afternoon, guys and gals. Once Kel gets in that Chevelle and smells the rubber burnin' she'll want me to finish her 'vette and then start on the '51!
What to do.....

ACES-70 Aug 20th, 99, 5:52 PM U must know my bride,,, she has given up,, its easier to give in come away from the dark side,,, into the world of Big Block Chevrolets :0) L89SEDAN
Gene Chas Aug 20th, 99, 7:21 PM One thing I told my wife ( BTW I've been there once before ,live and learn ) is that you take me for what I am. And you don't try to change folks. And vice versa.
There are some badly twisted folks out there. No need to list here. The kind of people you'd like to see disembowled and strung up from a phone pole, like Mussolini.
Loving the feel of a well tuned machine, the smell of partially burnt gas in the exhaust because of the cam's overlap, and the rush of adrenaline when 500 ponies hooks up to the tarmac, I don't consider those things socially deviant or destructive. If you think they are, leave, and maybe you'll luck out and find a wife beater, child molester or some other such chicks&^t scum.
Kel, if you got a good man you stick by 'em and let him indulge himself in good clean fun. There is nothing psychologically wrong here!
But like 67RAT said, I'm beyond repair. I believe in truth and the power of reason not $200 an hour shrinks and psycho drugs.
cSchu Aug 20th, 99, 7:40 PM In Kel's defense, she just got finished taking a mechanic class through the mail courtesy of NRI. Lotsa good info in those books. Some of it has even helped. I think that she is just scared that we will end up with a 30 car garage. We are looking for a house right now, and while she looks at landscaping and layout, I'm checking out the garage to see if it has ample support for an overhead engine hoist....
All kidding aside, she is an excellent gal. Wouldn't trade her for any amount of money (or torque), her post was more of a joke betwixt us.... I think that she will even be visiting this site as much as I do in the near future (maybe not quite as often)...
Keep up the good work, y'all. This is a super friendly site.
chev64 Aug 20th, 99, 7:46 PM C Schu, It looks like you better help Kel get that vette going or she'll do it by herself.

Gene Chas Aug 20th, 99, 8:20 PM c Schu, you're kiddin! A gal that knows her way around an engine bay. That's totally cool. You, Sir, are a very lucky man!!!
Kel, you'll have to let em have a bigger than average outbuilding to keep the clutter dowm.
You both have a great weekend http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
pro454chev Aug 20th, 99, 8:45 PM we all have our problems, my wife is actually glad mine is out in the garage, and not some where else, you've got a great ol, so do i, i just can't covince her that the chevelle comes first! just kiddin! i think!

Randal J. Arcand Aug 21st, 99, 7:43 AM C Schu's Wife: BE HAPPY! You know where he is, what he's doing. My wife is glad I have my car (other woman) same age as her by the way. And I do love to "romp" on her...the car that is. The new van sits outside...the 64 sits in the garage..wifes idea. Her idea that I bought it. Keeps me out of trouble...and as far as the web site goes....Everybody who's into chevelle, it's like going HOME everytime I visit the site.
So leave the poor guy alone...he could be out chasing women, drinking, and bringing home rare incurable unmentionables.
65ss Aug 21st, 99, 8:16 AM C-schu's Wife. Just my friendly 2c worth,It,s my opinion that it's you that might have the problem.I've gone through 2 brides so far who just could not understand a mans passion for cars or anything that takes quality time away from them.We are what we are and when someone tries to change us look out.My present girl HAS to take me and my hobby the way i am or she knows what to do,look elswhere.I dream of finding a mechanically inclined woman but they seem to be very rare, they are all gung ho at the start of the relationship but that doesn't seem to last long, so take him for what he is and enjoy him.Like everyone else said at least you know where he is and what he's doing.Smile and be happy and call on us anytime for support.PS if you think he's got a problem then check out my site:

joe58 Aug 21st, 99, 8:47 AM hey kelly tape a SS emblem around his arm. it may help him quit - like the "patch" for cigarettes
cSchu Aug 21st, 99, 8:57 AM Now there's a thought, joe58! You might even be able to market that.
I had this car when I was in high school, then my brother drove it while he was in high school. My dad took it back after all of that, and then gave it to me about three years ago. At first, Kelly was a little sceptical, but after a while, she was looking for a Corvette (which we found a bought)... As a matter of fact, she got a '51 Chevy for Valentine's Day last year! What more could a guy ask for?
The original post on this site was kind of a poke at me. I never expected her to post anything, and I must say it still makes me chuckle a little. There is no room for anger in our marriage. I have my priorities, and Kelly and Rachel (daughter) are far above the Chevelle. The 'boo is a material object, and although it would be tough to do it, it could be replaced....
All of the busted knuckles and oil/gas dripping in the eye would not be worth it to me if I did not have someone I loved to share it with!
That's it for me. Everybody... get off this site for about an hour and start those engines!
later!

Philip Aug 21st, 99, 9:53 AM Kelly, Welcome to the site. I sure like hearing from the lady gearheads. My wife has helped a bunch with our restoration projects and gives a point of view that I may never have thought of. So feel free to jump in and help keep us guys in line.

JBROWN Aug 21st, 99, 11:37 AM Hey I tried the SS patch and it made it worse there is no cure sorry.
------------------
Gary S Aug 21st, 99, 2:05 PM When you need help, it is best not to ask the other patients for a cure. This disease is uncurable.
I slipped with a wrench again yesterday and skinned my knuckles. When they started to bleed, it came out Chevy orange.
The only tie I own is a Bowtie, and it is on my car.
If my left foot twitches while I sleep, my right arm automatically makes a 2-3 shift.
And, yes, I do love the smell of burning tires in the morning.
C Schu's wife Aug 21st, 99, 2:21 PM Ok Ok. I've crossed over to the dark side. I admit that I love 'em too. They just cost so darned much! I am actually excited about going to check out an 86 Z28 tomorrow. Hey, it runs and its only $800. How could I not get excited! I guess we'll have to sell Chuck's 86 BMW....I guess he didn't tell you he even tried to get interested in Eurotrash. Men always look better in bowties!
Anyway, if the Camaro looks decent we'll probably have a new addition to the family.
It may just need a can or two of torque!!!!
Gotta go fill the Chevelle up with gas so we can get to the grocery store...
Bye
rickster Aug 21st, 99, 5:08 PM I guess with some of us it's like women, 1 is all we can handle at a time.

Randy Mosier Aug 21st, 99, 9:07 PM The 71 is the only vehicle on my place that's paid for. As for cost, a new vehicle such as a Camaro will cost anywhere from 14,000 for a bare bones V-6 car on up to 23,000 for a well equipped Z-28. For between 7000 to 12,000 dollars, depending on the parts suppliers you choose and the amount of work you do yourself, you can restore a Chevelle, Camaro, Nova or almost any car from the muscle era to like new condition. I just came home from a car show tonight where I saw a 65 Malibu that probably didn't look as good when it was sitting on the dealer's lot in 1965. The guy said he had between 7000 and 8000 in the car. Anyhow, that's one way to rationalize the cost. If it was cheap, it wouldn't be worth doing. Welcome to the dark side, by the way.
