Wanta67ss. What a dumb Statement. It is a Baltimore Built Car, You Know Maryland U.S.A. Canadian Documentation, because it was sold in Canada.

Yes I know where the car was built, I guess what I didnt see was any documentation showing it was actually sold in Canada. I purchased a 1966 L-79 SS Nova from Canada with Canadian documentation.. only to find out it was an original 116 vin car during dismantling.

The nearest estimate was that 323 COPO Chevelles were produced. It is known that 20 came to Canada as new cars, 99 became Yenko SC Chevelles, so that leaves 204 sold in the U.S. in the factory state.

They were talking about this car at yenko.net. Its had 4 owners in the last 2 years. Each one has sold it for more money than they paid. Its supposed to be pretty nice, but it makes you wonder why its being sold over and over.

I would say it is being resold for profit, same as the last few owners. Short term flips on high dollar cars has gotten normal lately. Making 5-10% on high dollar stuff instead of same % on 15-20k cars.

Old saying about takes money to make money, wonder what that feels like? having money?

Now if that car made it to my garage, it would be a keeper.

This suggests to me that at least some (if not much) of the price escalation that's taking place in the musclecar market is being driven by speculators/investors.

I owned that car and I can tell you it has not been sold at a profit. I wont disclose the selling price but you would be pretty surprised if I told you.

Alot of time these cars are sold for less to get into something else that they want. I have sold cars in order to get into something else of more value or that I desired. Dont believe alot of the prices you see sometimes it is about the crowd your in and get the inside information. Ebay creates alot of shell bidding and it si great exposure. Most of the supercars you see end up going to someone private. Barret Jackson is a joke although they were a few good deals there were many that were just hyped up and it was about who had the bigger balls! As to why it has changed hands? When I sold that car it was to get inot something else and the guy who bought it from me did me a favor buy buying it. And then he sold it. The car is very nice runs good has an older resto but is the real deal looks to have had a qtr panel repalced not the original engine but all date coded correct. Sean

Cube, Thanks for the info on this great 69. It sounds as you know this car well and others like it.

Would you agree the investors have came over to our world for short term profits on flipping this types of cars?

I have been a fan of COPO cars for a long time, they have always been way out of reach for me, but we all need dreams.

Not saying their all bought to flip in a year or so, but many do it seems

There are some that are in it for profit and glory and some who love the cars and keep them. This car was my 1st copo probably should have kept it almost all my cars are orange! Yes I believe that there are investors looking to make a quick buck. it is that old saying someones elses junk is another mans gold mine so they will pay big bucks (not that this car is junk by no means) Theyare just getting harder to find and to do a concourse resto say CPR Chuck huber your looking at well over 100-200k for a top notch car. i know of one car that will be for sale ZL! but it will fetch 1.5-2 million! it is a full nos resto and it will be perfect. How do you enjoy it? you cant it needs to be in a climate controlled storage, never started, and never moved! How fun is that. Sean
