Planning ahead on my 68SS, what should the underside of the hood be painted and the trunk? I am pretty sure the trunk is the color of the car, but is the hood black, and if so, flat, gloss, satin??? Also, the top of the dash (between dash pad and windshield). Is that satin or flat black? The original color is Butternut Yellow/black interior.

I would go with the body color under the hood as well as the deck lid..... graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Not sure about '68 but I think it would be the same as '70. That for sure would have the underside of the trunk lid same as body color. The underside of the hood would be black.

No American 68 hoods were body color on the underside. It is done that way by some, but it is incorrect. The hood bottom should be semi-gloss black, and the trunk bottom should be body color. The trunk bolts should also be body color b/c they painted it on the car...
