Any body have a suggestions where to obtain a decent bottle Jack? I don't want to have to replace it after I use it once!

Does Sears stil sell them? I have had a couple from there for many, many years and they still work after I have really abused them and not taken care of them.

On the other hand, Iv'e had my Sears jacks for many many years with a lot of use and never had any problem with them.

Maybe I got mine back when they were still made in the USA.

It sure wouldn't surprise me if they are junk - made in China now.
Isn't everything "throw away" now?

I have two other floor jacks, one from Sam's club and one from Wards but I always grab my Sears because it works better with less pumping.
Another thing I don't like about the two cheaper ones is the handles will not stay up by theirself when parked.

The one from Wards I bought twice, the first time for my son as a present then after he loaned it to a friend that left his 4 wheeler jacked up down by the river and found it gone when he got back.
I later bought it from another one of his friends that was moving out of town and needed money.
Later I got to looking at it and said, "hey that's the same jack"

Sears jack I inherited. Works OK (limited use) but burrs all over. Don't just grab it and pick it up; you'll get some serious lacerations. Its the downside of "China and India" manufacture for the world.

Harbor Freight aluminum "3 ton Jackstands" (thats the pair; not each. read the fine print). OK, but I puckered a little first time I rolled under the car. Is anything made in USA anymore?

Dont get me wrong I really liked my Sears jack, and I payed good money for it, $130.00 on sale.
It's just that it now takes 200 pumps to get my car into the air, I think it moves about 1/4" per pump?
I have replaced the oil and tryed to make sure all the air is out of it, as per instructions.
It allmost acts as if it's slipping while you pump, someone said it has rolled an "O" ring, others say it's still full of air? (anyone ever rebuild one?)
It's really a bummer cause my life could depend on the jack I use if my jack stands fail.
I allways like a jack and stands just in case.

I was in our local napa store, and this old guy that run a auto salvage yard bought this 2 1/2 ton floor jack, it was about $300.00.
When he left I ask the guy at napa, that sounds like a lot of money, and it's only rated at 2 1/2 ton, he said that old guy knows what he's doing.
I bought two of them years ago, and have never had a problem, I don't have a lift, but I have used them a lot. I have lifted goose neck trailers, one ton pickups, never had a problem.

I have seen some older ones that are probably from the made in the USA era in pawnshops dealing in tools.

I have a pro-lift that quit after a couple years. I noticed it was leaking oil. It appeared an o-ring had disintegrated. After replacing, the jack works like new.

How did you change the "O" ring and where can ya get a new one?

I removed the small cylinder attached to the handle and then removed a large nut that the cylinder goes through. The o ring sits in a groove in the bore. I found an o ring at Lowes that fit.

I have heard that about NAPA floor jacks as well. I had not thought of them maybe I will run by there.

An old timer told me that when the Lincoln Jack Co sold out, the last decent floor jack went over seas. Thats why I bought an old reconditioned floor jack!
