This is just a FYI that someone may find useful researching later. I just converted to disc brakes on my 65. I tried my 14" cragars on a friends el camino that had discs from a 70 cutlass. They fit fine. My brackets and dust shields are aftermarket. Anyways, my 14x6 cragars fit with one small problem. The caliper bracket touched the rim just barely on 1 corner. I was able just to touch up with a file and it is fine now. These 6" wheels are quite old, maybe late 70's. I thought I would try my rear wheels, 14x7 which are only 2 years old. These do not fit at all.

We have later 14 x 6 Cragars on the front of our '69 SS Chevelle and they fit fine. Quite a few early mags wouldn't fit disc brake cars and the manufacturers had to do some modifications so that later wheels would.

Your rubbing problem may not be with the wheels. The key to your problem may be the after market caliper brackets. The repro's are cast wrong, and usually rub 14 in. wheels of any type. The repro brackets rubbed on my rally wheels too, till I found a set of original GM brackets. Now they fit fine.
