Gentlemen,
I've got a set of dated rear shocks for my 69 Chevelle. My question is, does anybody know if these can be rebuilt and if so where?
Thank you in advance,
Jim

I know koni can revalve shocks but it's kinda pricey, just an option i'm sure other manufactures rebuild as well.

Yes they can be rebuilt ,common practice in the 50's and 60's but doubt you will find anyone now who does it.

I bet if you asked in the "Restoration" forum here on TC, they'd be able to help you out. I have heard of people rebuilding date-coded shocks, and those guys would know where to have it done better than the guys in here, as most of the traffic in here is from people looking to modify/improve their suspension.

Yes. Try Apple Hydraulics located in Calverton N.Y. They usually have an add in Hemmings if you need the address and phone number. Good luck.

Got a hold of Apple Hydraulics in Calverton, NY. They only rebuild a different type of shocks but they gave me a guy in Colorado to call.
His number is [800] 344-1966.
He can refurbish the outside of a spiral shock, the rubber bushings, etc. and then repaint them, but he can't do anything with the internals.
I could then use them for showing the car and then put a newer shock back on when I want to go to the track!
Thanks again for your guys help.
