I like to think in know a little about cars but thought someone might be able to nail my problem down for me. I have a 97 RS camaro, 3.8 v6. The engine gets pretty warm, but no heat from the heater. Ive changed out thermostats. Still no change. The car seems to go from Hot to cooler sporadicly. Is it my water pump, heater core, radiator cap, radiator???? Wanted to get some opinions before i tear into it again.
thanks

Was it doing it before the t-stat change? could be air pocket or head gaskets or intake. When its running t-stat open can you see coolant moving in rad ? Is it bubbleing over before it over heats? If you know someone that has a gas analsyer check hydro carbon coming out of rad (high h/c head gaskets) hope this helps Wayne

yes it was doing that before i changed it. I figured the tstat would fix it. Ive let it run with the radiator cap off to let an air bubble out. May have to tear into it again this weekend
CheCk and see if both heater hoses are hot Could be a stopped up heater Core.
