So I have this crazy idea to powdercoat the fuel bowls on a Holley I'm rebuilding. Anybody ever tried this?
Talked to the powdercoat guy I send my stuff to, and he said , it would work IF the parts are pure cast aluminum and not some alloy or mix of other metals. Anybody know if holley's are made of pure aluminum?
Can I bead blast the rest of the carb (provided I plug all the passages and mask all machined surfaces)? Then clearcoat it?

I am would like to know too. I have that eastwood setup with an industrial oven. I have heard that you needed to pre-heat or de-gas(sp?) the part but that was hear say.

I bought in a lot of holley parts once a black powdercoated holley carb body. Looks pretty decent to me.

Mark,
That's exactly the type of thing I want to do. Where did you get it done? IL? How much it cost? I have been taking my stuff to Metal Prep Services in Rockford, helluva guy... Feel free to PM me if you'd rather not say in public.
