National Parts Depot has wiring Diagram Manuals for 70 El Caminos for $5.25 under part number C-LFB-170E. Do you know where they are in Livonia?

I've found the best ones in the factory service manuals they cover more than what I got when i ordered the plain wiring diagram

I have to agree with pmullaly. I used the factory wiring diagram when I had to do some extensive electrical diagnosis and repair on my '66 Chevelle. They were right on with color, gage, and connectors. It even covered factory options. I'll bet your local library would have one on the shelf. Hope it helps.

There is one thing that could be a problem for you using the factory service manual. It doesn't include the schematic for the dash for gauges. The schematic for the engine compartment is correct but the one for the dash itself is the one for the dash with the idiot lights. While 90% of the wiring is the same for the two of them there are some differences. I've even bought a couple of supplemental wiring diagrams for a '70 and still haven't been able to find the correct one.
