I am looking for a cost range to have a body shop replace a FULL rear quarter panel including the wheelhouse, deck lid, and panel spliced near top of the roof. I have estimates as high as 2000 bucks a quarter. What range should I consider reasonable?

Thanks for your help.

Well a goodmark quarter goes for 500 bucks a wheel well goes for 100. We now have 600 bucks per quarter. Now good used deck lids go anywhere for 75 to Ive seen them sell for 160 on ebay. Repro is 250.

The body shop I used to work at charged 45 bucks an hour. Based on the 1975 mitchell repair manual it paid 13.3 hours to replace and install a new quarter. It paid 2.5 hours to remove and install a new wheel well. Add both of those together you get 15.8 hours per quarter. Now 45 bucks times 15.8 is $711 per quarter, if you now add your 600 bucks for the parts you get a total of $1311 per quarter panel.

Keep in mind that shops charge different rates and it takes different people longer or shorter amounts of time to do the same task...Eric
