: Changing Fender/SS Badges

I was wondering if anyone has every tried to "change" the grill or fender badges on an SS to display different engine sizes. Let me elaborate. I have a blown 496 in my 67 and thought it would be neat if I could have my badging to show SS 496 instead of 396. I was wondering if anyone had merged two badges (a 396 and 427). Just a thought that it would be different seeing badging that reflect my true engine size.

Has anyone done this or thought about the best way to go about it?

If anyone has, please let me know. I want to stick with the metal emblems and not even consider painted numbers or stickers.

Thanks.

I've never seen it in person, but I think it's a heck of an idea.

My NPD chevelle book has a section in the emblems, where you can order each number seperate but they attach by two sided tape.

427 is red, 396 is white....

I would want to make the change and then have the internal numbers painted to match each other.

Any otherthoughts?

I always wanted to make a SS327 emblem. I gave up after realizing I'd have to demolish a SS396 emblem...
