I was planning to paint my driveshaft the natural steel color with a POR-15 product but am hesitating as I have read in other forums about guys getting their driveshafts balanced. Will painting the driveshaft throw the balance of it off and will this then cause a vibration or is this something only guys that race and run these cars at high RPM's need to worry about? I don't have a problem now and certainly don't want to create one by painting it.

The weight of dried paint or POR-15 will in no way affect driveshaft balance. Where dd you hear that?

Use aluminum paint...it'll make it lighter.
