I was instructed that this months lowrider has an article on how to bag a 49-54 chevy. Well, its freaken easy, and I'm gonna do it while I have the car apart. I understand the whole bag install and such, and I have the whole suspension part of it figured out. What I dont get is the whole compressor pump thing. I dont understand what kind of valves I need, what size compressor, what size tank, how many ports on the tank, etc.
Here is what I do know.
- Im going to be using firestone bags with a single 1/2'' inlet.
- I only want front/back bias, no side to side. So I know I'll need 4 valves for this.
- I dont want to "hop". But I do want to be able to drag frame.
What I dont know.
- How big of a compressor and tank am I going to need?
- What kind of valves do I need? What are the main differences other than speed?
- Whats with the compressors that go to 150psi, while the valves are advertised at like 400-800 psi?
- My friends had a horrorshow with his S/10 extreme after bagging it. He went through like 5 compressor/tank/valve setups in two years. How do I avoid this? What are a good brands? Firestone?
