My son's '72 bench seat driver and middle seat belt latch's plastic cover broke and now the button and spring have come out. This car has the fixed shoulder strap type latch. Is that latch the same for other (70-72?) or is the shoulder strap buckle different. I've looked on ebay and there aren't too many from that year and they all want a fortune for them. Give me a break! I just need one simple black seat belt with buckle. Any ideas? Anyone got one laying around they can sell me? I hate to have him drive too much without a seat belt. I can swap the other side, but need to have the 2nd one eventually anyway since he does have passengers.

I had the same problem on my '72 and found that for some reason the '72 was NOT the same as the other years. I ended up having to buy a set of 2 on E-Bay and have used them both since the second one broke later.

You might try these guys. They are in Sacramento, Calif. they have a guy tha runs a used parts business (or at least they used to) that had alot of used parts like seat belts and all kinds of parts. I got some for my son's 72 El Camino. But I live near Sacramento so I took my belt in to show them what we needed. Real good shop. RichF
