Ok guys. I jokingly said that this happened because my car was just too fast. ;) Honestly, it's just the simple base coat put on before I bought the car. They probably didn't even pop off the crhom trim. It's oriringally a ragtop car.

What do you think? Should I just square it and paint a 2" by 13" strip? It is by no means a show quality paint job. The car will see a paint bay within 1 year. I just need to get by without getting pointed at AND laughed at. (ps. I need to fix it before Chevelle-abration! graemlins/sad.gif )

feather the edge back with 400 grit sand paper, mask the windshield and off the drip rails and cover the rest of the car with plastic, scotchbrite an area about 4" past the exposed primer and rub out the area 12-16" past that. Dial your spray gun down for a tight pattern with low air pressure and apply color with the gun angled towards the windshield so your overspray won't buld up on the middle of the roof. blend your color back just enough to make a gradual transition then clear almost to the edge of the scotchbrited area, apply a second coat of clear up to the edge of the scotchbrited area and melt the overspray edge with blending solvent, let it dry at least one day and lightly sand with 2000 and buff lightly. It sounds more difficult than it is but would be much better then just masking the area off and living with a tape line. The blend won't last forever but will hold fine till you get the rest painted. I'd look into what caused the problem though, you may need to strip the car down if it's going to be done right. Bob
