: What are the correct wheels for a 66 SS?
BB66 Jan 29th, 06, 3:09 PM What width and codes are correct for 66 SS wheels? I've tried the search and never really came up with the info I'm looking for. The Chevy By The Numbers book I have dosen't specifically state what a 66 SS should have. Thanks, BB66
EddieC67ss Jan 29th, 06, 9:26 PM JK code 14" x 6 1/2 "

BB66 Jan 29th, 06, 11:23 PM Thanks, for the info. I was searching under, "Correct wheels for a 66 SS" and variations of that but never came up with this info. Thanks again, BB66
SS66NN Jan 30th, 06, 7:51 PM BB66,
JK 14x6 Kelsey Hayes rim. In addition with the letter A stamped near the valve stem along with the numeral 6. That should be correct for a 66 SS rim. Best of luck finding a set of them. They are tuff to come by.
PS. from the Fort area, Three Rivers Festival etc. I grew up a short drive away. Peru, IN......... home now in Overland Park, Kansas.

Actually, they should measure 6 inches bead to bead, and 7 inches outside to outside.

BB66 Feb 2nd, 06, 10:51 AM Thanks for all your input. Dug out my copy of the Chevelle Fact Book and sure enough the info was right there. Excuse me, but I'm a little rusty with the Chevelle stuff. I purchased this car 7 years ago and it's been on the back burner for various reasons for a few years. It's easy to talk about this stuff, but the commitment it takes to get one of these cars together right isn't. The car is a matching #s 66SS L35 4spd. I'm an Aces member and am going to renew my expired Team Chevelle membership. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions. Thanks again, BB66
66 MYSTERY CHEVELLE Feb 3rd, 06, 1:09 PM Lets hope whomever won these did their homework as well... My understanding is they are incorrect backspacing.. which the seller made clear when asked..Good price, but it reflects that most likley found out they are not Correct, or I would have seen these taking $140 plus shipping!

I would have tried to ask all the right ?'s and asked for some other pic's like i did on that set of 4 previously advertised and hopefully not got screwed. Does electronic correspondence and a telephone conversation constitute knowing someone? If so I'm on the right path, maybe some steel wheels with a set of dogs???? ;) If not maybe an up close and personal @ CB 06 will help:D
