I was looking in the year one catalog here a little while ago and noticed a lot more rear end kits for the chevelles. I was just wondering what everyone is using and how they like it as far as on the street (quick cornering) and on the drag strip. I was looking at Metco, Edlebrock, HP Motorsports, Hotchkis. Thanks guys, im just trying to figure out what im looking to get for my 71. That im planning on being a cruiser and drag racing every once and a while. Thanks a lot guys.

Edlebrock uppers and lowers, throw away the poly bushings they include in the kit and go buy some rubber bushings at the part store for the axle ears.

I have the boxed lowers with a one inch sway bar. Up top I have adjustables with the spherical ball end. This takes the bind out, you can tell a difference in the ride. I also have added no hop bars, this made the biggest difference. They change the geometery of the rear, not only stopping wheel hop, but now the rear plants when you accelerate. Instead of the rear of the car squating, it plants the tires and the car raises in the back. Great launch couldent be happier.

Thanks guys. Does any one out there have Metco Or HP Motorsports, Global West, and im sure some people have hotchkis. Im just wondering which is the best for the price. Im for sure getting adjustable uppers, and im not sure what kinda lowers, and no hop bars too. Thanks for the input so far.

Current:
SSM lowers, stock uppers w/ poly bushings = sucks big-time. It's fine for straight line accelleration, but horrible for ride-quality.

In boxes in the shop waiting for me to install:
Wolfe Racecraft double-adjustable uppers & lowers with their solid-spherical bearings at all 8 ends.

How much is it going to cost to replace everything?

I have the Global West Lowers (spherical bearings at from, Del-Alum in the back). I currently have stock uppers with new rubber bushings, but going to Edelbrock adjustible uppers with WolfCraft bearings... Still has a nice ride...
