My Norton Antivirus found a virus, but can't seem to get rid of it. I tried going to their site, and can't find out anything about it. I do know the name of the file is UWFX5_0001_MNINetInstaller.exe. it is located in documents and settings, but that is as much as I could see. I tried doing a search for it and found nothing. Anyone have any ideas? Oh yes, it comes up as the name "Errorsafe" on the Norton scan.

If you know when you got the virus you can go to your control panel click on performance and maintenance then click on system restore and you can return your computer to a time before you had the virus and it will be gone. You will also lose any thing new to your computer after that time.

Try spybot search & destroy.
Ad-aware SE personal.
AVG free verison.
Hi-Jack this. (only use hi-jack this if you know what you are doing.)
There all free and some virus protection can get rid of some things
when others cant.
I use them all when ever I have a computer virus. Even if the first one
says it found it and got rid of the virus.

System Restore 99% of the time it wont get rid of a virus. Infact you almost always have to turn System Restore OFF to get rid of the virus, so it doesnt store it into the memory. System Restore is basically good if u screw something up in the files, but its pretty much worthless if you get a virus.

it seems like I have gotten rid of it by deleting all my temp internet files. I did that, and ran the Norton again, and it said everything is fine. I do have adaware, plus mirosoft spyware. I run them every 2-3 days. Thanks for all the suggestions

Restore WILL NOT get rid of a virus, in fact they recreate themselves in system restore, and as SS454 said, when you have a virus the 1st thing to do is turn sys rest off.
Norton in my opinion sucks, it will give false viruses, and miss real ones, get AVG, it is free, and works like a charm.
If your unsure go to Trend micro website http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and do an online scan.

FYI,

Housecall has been through some updates and does not work 100% all the time. You may experience some browser crash issues but they are making the site better slowly.
