: DuPont Paint, which one to use?

I had decided to use PPG NPC271 primer and their Concept single stage paint for my white paint job. Body is to bare metal with filler work completed.

My local shop has switched to DuPont. I intend to get advice from them but:
1. Their paint guy was not in today.
2. Want some other opinions also.

So my question is can anyone give me any suggestions on what type of DuPont paint to use? I want to use an epoxy build primer and sealer with a single stage paint similar to the PPG stuff listed above.

Thanks Chris

I've been using DuPont on my car, first the Variprime etching primer on the bare steel followed by URO primer/filler. I'm going with a single stage urethane on the topcoat, either the Chroma One or the Chroma Premier single stage. I have used the Chroma One on other areas and have been happy with the results. No real complaints about any of the products yet. I have also used DuPonts Prime 'n seal wich is one of there epoxy primer/sealers, but not a build primer. I'm not sure what else they have in the way of epoxies but I'm sure if you did some reading here http://www.performancecoatings.dupont.com you could find alot of helpful info.

I'm not a body guy myself, but My guy painted mine with the Chroma-one Premier in a #52 garnet. It was a little pricey (400$ a gal) but its worth it! Excellent finish, and durable as well

615S variprime then follow that up with URO-prime.
That combo is darn hard to beat.
Right now am using Dupont 4906 primer but its NOT the primer URO is.
Prime-n-seal is an epoxy based product but carries only a 7yr warrenty compared to the lifetime of variprime. Another epoxy product would be CR2585

Chroma one looks really good when mixed 50/50 with a compatible clear on the last two coats.

Plus the advantage of mixing the single stage with clearcoat is, you can actually buff the car. My experience with chroma one is that it gets so hard you can't buff it. Plus, it makes it easier to spray, IMHO. Tacks up quicker.

By mixing the single stage with the clear, are you going to notice any slight difference in color? Like if you did the jams with straight SS and the outside of the car with the 50/50 for "buffability", are you going to be able to see a difference?

You won't see a noticable difference from the exrerior to the jambs. The clear will tend to slightly brighten light colors and darken darker colors, and will add depth to all colors. I only recomend single stage for solid colors, metalics should be base coat clear coat system.
