I took a look behind the fender on my '70 and took a look at the body mount tower. It looks like it's almost rusted in half. Any of you ever have to deal with something like this? If so, what did you do about it? Also have some rusted bed rails (underneath)and I assume these would have to be fabricated.

Shoot an e-mail to Cardiac. I beleive he did a full bed re-do on a '69 elcamino a few years back...

I was asking the same questions because mine is also shot the same way, body tower and bed rails.

I belive you already know the answer though- cut it all out and start fabricating... The body towers can be had through re-pop, but the bed & bed rails cannot be found and will have to be made.

I'm not happy with that answer either, but i know its the right thing to do, so i'm saving my nickels & dimes for when i can get it into a shop... http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Thanks, I'll do that. Another place they're rusted is the front ones below the firewall. I'm going to send my car to a restoration place to get this done, I can't do the rust repair myself. I'm going to have them do the rust repair and paint, and then I would do everything else.
