Hello!
I've lost a few molding rivets (don't know the real name of these guys) around my front window and along the side for my top trim and
tailgate. I'd like to have these all replaced. Do most body shops have these and are they easy for them to replace or can I buy them and have them attach/weld them? They look like the heads of nails.
Thanks,
Al

Al,The studs you are refering to can be purchased at most autobody supply dealers. The ones that I used were screw in type studs. You just drill a little pilot hole, put some sealer on the end and screw them in.Hope this helps you.

Thanks Ricky-G!
I'll let the body shop do it. I just wanted to know if it was a big deal and that it could be done. I'll ask what process they use for attaching these dudes. It's probably a good idea to put some kind of sealant around 'em.
Were they sturdy? Seems to me that they might be a little weak being put into sheet metal and not welded.

Al,If you use seam sealer on the ends of the studs ,then screw them in . This sorta bonds them in snug. And its seals the hole to prevent leaks.I have used them for years and never had a problem.
