Can someone tell me how to align my passenger door ? The car is a 1972 Chevelle, it only closes to the safety latch. If you close it hard enough to latch good it closes about 1/2" in to far. I have tried adjusting the hinges and that does nothing. What controls the in - out type adjustment ?

Sounds like the striker is to far in. Loosen the striker (part on door jam in the rear) in move it out, tighten and try it again. Couple of tries and you should be able to get it fitting better. Crank it real tight when you get it where you want it.
