As long as I've been in this area people have said that dry ice can shrink small dents from hail. "Accepted" procedure is to rub dry ice acrossed dent on a HOT day. The ice is suppose to shrink the metal & pop it back to level. FACT or FICTION? Does it take a practiced hand to get the job done?

My sons' new (to him) truck was beat fairly well on the first nite after he bought it. We are hoping that someone will know if this folk remedy really works. Also is there a downside to paintless dent repair? Thanx

The ice method can work but only on the smallest of dings. Is it hard...NO.

Downside to PDR is becareful of which place you choose. SOme are down right cruel, most of these guys are the storm chasers. Go to your local body shop they can lead you to a good PDR.

Thanx for the info. Forecast is for 100+ today. It may be worthwhile to try before taking it to PDR.

Your insurance company can often recommend a good paintless dent repair shop, and they'll often pay 100%. Check with your insurer.
