I was told the other day that the GM reconditioning black paint is no longer available !? Does anyone else make such a paint that is ready to spray out of the can & the right shade of black ? Thought akzo noble made this paint for them so is it possible to get it from them still ? Guess they had to get rid of it because it was just to handy graemlins/clonk.gif .

Duplicolor Semi Gloss Black is about perfect, comes in spray cans. Or use a single stage PPG urethane black with #685 flattening agent. Tell the paint store you want it "eggshell"

For cheap paint :
I recently tried Rustoleum satin black (oil base) and ACE hardware satin black (oil base),
The Rustoleum gloss appeared to be very close.
The Ace seemed to have more gloss to it.
I consider them a temp solution until I decide to spend the money to do it right with a 2k paint.

BTW, it was a long agonizing decision to put these paints on, I really wanted to use 2k paints but couldn't spare the bucks right now.
