i have a 67 chevelle. the front left body bushing bolt broke in half leaving the treads in the (what im guessing is a welded in) nut. do i need to drill and tap this? try and bust the old nut loose and just replace it? ideas please. thanks Dave

Is this the mount at the firewall?
if so, I believe there is an access if you remove the inner wheel well. it's not large enough to get any tool in, but if you can figure out how to tap another bolt into whats left of the mount bolt you could "tighten" it on through the cage nut. (i.e. the threads inside the nut are in better shape.)then remove it throgh the access.
personally, I would cut a hole in the floorboard, take revenge on whats left of the bolt, then weld up the floor. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
but then again... i've got rusty floorboards!

Take out your fenderwell to access the nut and remaining bolt.
Take a hammer and cold chisel and smack the nut a couple of times to break its welds/crimps. Then remove offending hardware.
Install new bolt and secure with a plain old nut. torque to 35 ft lbs reinstall fenderwell.
