I see that on monster garage JJ likes using metal cutting shears to cut sheetmetal..looks like it works well without all the sparks of a cutting wheel. Are there good electric ones out there or should I stick with an air model? I would like to try a set, looks better than using an air chisel. No budget for a plasma cutter yet smile.gif

Like every thing you get what you pay for.
Yes they make an Good Eletric Sheer 18ga and above.. but there Expensive...Bought mine 20 years ago and they were over $200 then.
Do you have an Air compresser capable of handling air tools? If So.. A sheet metal reciprocating body saw. .Kind of like a MINI AIR
Saws All...works great for triming, fitting and cutting light gauge sheet metal.

I have an OLD Ingersall Rand.. I know a guy who got one from Harbor Freight last year  for $29.00 and he's trimed ALOT of panels with it. ??? and it's still going strong ... graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I agree you get what you pay for, and I am willing to pay $200 for a tool that will last 20 years. Anyone have a brand to recommend? I think the mini air saw is also a good idea but the shears would work better for trimming flat panels on a bench.

I bought a nibbler and I love it. Eastwood. I use it to cut flat stock on the bench and it works great. I have a air recpt saw and hate the thing, hard to control and I break the bits so easy that I spend more time changing them than working on the project. I'd use my saws-all or sabre saw with a metal blade before I'd go after anything with that air saw.
