Hey guys. The Chevelle is starting to move out of the ‘gates of purgatory’ (so to speak) with the paint & body hell it’s been through.

I was wanting to know who makes the best rear wheel housings, fenders & quarters. Also, does the TC discount with Ground Up apply to sheetmetal?

Anyone had this much sheetmetal truck freighted and if so what is the total for shipping I’m looking at?

Joe, Ive had nothing but good luck with goodmark. Got the ENTIRE goodmark catalog installed on my car, quarters are great, fenders etc.

If you are going with quarters do yourself a HUGE favor and spring for the full OEM type quarters. In the long run it will be cheaper and a much better repair.

Now correct me if am wrong but I believe you are from around the Kansas city area right? There is a place down in KC that sells parts for 47-72 or so chevy trucks. Even thou they dont sell chevelle parts they do sell goodmark stuff. Might be worth a call and see if they can order the goodmark parts as that would save on shipping. Plus if you are NOT happy with them as in damage or something you can refuse the parts.

Thanks for the lead. Just got ahold of them. They won't deal with car parts, only truck parts :(

I'll have to look on Goodmark's website to find a dealer in the area.

I'm still wondering if it would be cheaper to go through Ground Up with our TC discount and pay the shipping or go through a dealer here and not pay shipping but pay the tax. Choices, choices, choices.

I will have to find my Goodmark catalog but I am
pretty sure there is a dist. in Jeff City that deals with
car panels.

Joe just another thought is try your local body shops. THEY all get aftermarker parts somewhere. For example we get stuff from Souix plating based out of soiux city Iowa and keystone(was Northstar)which is Nation wide. Soiux plating is a goodmark dealer but NOT listed on the goodmark website.

If you are taking it to a body shop ask them where they buy aftermarket parts for late models, I bet you'd be surprised.

Before I found out about soiux plating I bought a pair OEM type quarters and door skins right from goodmark. Just the shipping on that was around 170 bucks. Now that I buy from Soiux, I pay no shipping and plus get a discounted price...Eric

Sioux Plating -

Also do a very good job with straightening and polishing stainless trim pieces. Getting harder and harder to find places that do this work it seems.

Thanks guys for your help!

I'm having the Ford dealership that my brother works at do the paint and body work. I've seen some of Pat's work (the main body guy there) and am nothing but impressed with his attitude towards getting it done right the first time.

Thanks again guys for the help!

I ordered partial skins from OPGI they were like 300 for both. Shipping was ungodly. $175 but that was from Cali. to Wisconsin. they got discounts if you order 500 or 100 worth. AND frequent buyer points! graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/hurray.gif Free stuff on the way.
