I have watched the Jackson Barrett Auction all weekend. Three or four 1970 LS6 went for over $1,000,000.00 each. And the 1950 GM Bus went for a world record $4,100,000.00. I thought everything was going higher than a cats back!

If my memory serves me right there was only one LS6 for over $1M, that being the Briggs former drag car. The other high LS6 car, also a convertible in Red/White, went for $475K. Some of the Hardtops went for low money IMO, but I don't know the quality of them.

Way too much OVERKILL with the exposure this event gets and the ridiculous money being tossed around. Hopefully we can get back to the real world. However, having said that, I'm glued to the TV every year :clonk:

It seems like BJ auctions have become a new kind of extreme sport for gazillionaires....pretty ridiculous, I remember a 56 2 door post 283 4 speed I sold the same day I bought it for 3 times as much, ($5,500. no motor or trans, rsuted out trunk and rear floors) I thought that guy was nuts too, but needed the cash....seriously, are any of these guys going to ever use these cars, or just show them to their friends over cognac and Cuban cigars...

Thanks for the offer Mike, but you put in one too many "zeros". Alternatively, you could trade me the MYSTERY CHEVELLE and a few dineros for THE BLUE BEAST ;) :D :waving:

Could have bought the "Mystery Chevelle" at DEI for $15k, at least that's what the for sale sign on it said.

I could have bought that red 66 about 5 or 6 years ago when it was sitting in here in Mn. At Midway Chevs showroom. Never did go in and ask what they were asking but seen in in the window many times. Prolly a lot less then 125K.

Be carefull Mike,if your crazy enough to put a price tag on your car, there might be someone crazy enough to take it off your hands, then what?start over?go on vacation?,when you get back home you will have to face that theres an empty spot in the garage.http://i1.tinypic.com/miz5mf.gifhttp://i1.tinypic.com/miz69s.gif

Kind of hard to comparison shop all original, 10,000 mile, 360HP 66's.

If you were building an elite collection, she'd surley sit well in it.

Nice.

Treasure Chest of info. these survivors!!

You know what kills me, 1- 1/2 years or so ago my car was as original as this one with about 100,000 more miles on it, then it fell into the wrong hands.:clonk: Although If it stayed that way I probably would have never got my hands on it ,oh well I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.
