I used NAPA urethane black today to paint a pickup box, my gun wasn't spraying correctly and I need to reshoot one side. It was 64 degrees here today and is to be that tommorrow. I had waited 2 hours after spraying and started up the heater and had the garage at 100 for 1 1/2 hours and at 60-80 for another 2 hours. Most areas feel dry to the touch. It will get down into the 40's tonight and I'm wondering if its possible to scuff the one side tommorrow morning and reshoot that same day. The garage won't be heated tonight. Any thoughts??? Thanks Randy

Should be no problem at all. Go for it.

vettefella, thanks for the input- I was told that the packing on my binks #7 was loose and needed to be oiled. The gun would act up at first, but then would take off and spray great. Should I DA it with say 320 and reshoot?

I would first make sure that the gun is cleaned properly. Make sure that the air cap is clean, the nozzle and the pick up tube is free of junk. We have a binks7(suction gun cup on the bottom) at work and most of the times when it acts up is because the air inlet hole is plugged.
I would wet sand your box side with 500 grit if its really grainy looking or rough. Your da and 320 is way to course and you would see sand scratches in the paint, paint willnt fill that grit...Eric

Thanks for the replys. I found that my packing nut wasn't tight enough and was sucking air and spraying like a drywall sprayer. I used some mineral oil on it and cleaned things up and its spraying correctly now. Thanks Again!!!
