: Up in the air

I have just put my 69 Mali on jackstands in order to do some work on it. It occurred to me that there might be a favored resting point for long term elevation of the vehicle. Some of you, it seems, have had projects underway for months (years?). Right now the front is supported on the frame, just behind the point where it curves in to accept the front suspension, just ahead of where the door hinges). The rear end is supported on each side at a point just ahead of where the frame kicks up, ahead of the rear axle. I'm thinking about placing a pair on either side of the punkin along the rear axle as insurance against a catastrophic collapse. Will it cause a problem to have the front end (wheels on) "dangling" unsupported for months? Anything I'm missing here?

Thanks for any input you offer, Bill

I can't see a problem with that, only because there no difference if you leave it dangling up in the air or on the ground with all the weight on it.

Thanks - my safety is paramont and keeping the car unstressed is a close second. Had a 58 Plymouth roll over me back in the day so my paranoia is well founded!

I will press on! Bill
