Hey All;
I've heard that the Astro Blue option is a little rare. Any truth to this. Would it really add much value to have it repainted original ( car is a bit rodded ), kinda like cranberry with black belts. Thoughts??

I have a 70SS Astro blue with black stripes. I have not seen many, so it may be more rare than some of the other more common colors. Not sure if it would any value or not and I don't know if there is a way to know how many had this color combination. Sorry to add more questions but I'd like to find out myself. Maybe someone else can offer their knowledge on this?

Hey CM70Man;
Had mine for 23 yrs. Had been repainted once in mid '70s. Needs body work and paint.
Bought it '79 off a lot in Huntsville Ala, for a paltry $800. Bit on a budget, but doing what I can. She's gettin there. Hey, your rather close. Any Chevelle clubs in the area ( SE PA or N. Del)?

mfinger1, I have seen many Astro Blue/Black stripes either in person or for sale on the internet or other old car magazines. It was a standard color so I would say that it is not rare, black stripes,white stripes or no stripes. I had a 70 convertible (non SS) that is Astro Blue. There may be a lot more, say, red cars out there. I don't think this makes the Astro Blue rare. I currently own a 70 SS, Gobi Beige, with no stripes. I have seen less of those than Astro Blue.

Hey 70Z15, how long have you had that 70 in Indiana.?? Did you get it from a guy in Bardstown Ky?
I sold a 70 Gobi Beige SS years ago and went to buy it back. The guy had sold it a summer before I caught up with him to a guy in IN.
I've done title searches and everything to try and find it. Could you be that owner???

RandyB, I don't think so. I just got this car a month ago. The previous owner had it for about 12 years and he got it from his uncle in Wisconsin.

Yo 70z15;
Just commenting from some research I've done and info I've dug up. Not saying that it's "extremly" rare, just less frequent a selected paint option than others on the SS in the '70 model year, therefore rarer.
