Does the antennae cable have to be removed from the grommet or can the antennae /grommet assembly be removed together? Is there a special tool for removing the grommet?. Also the glovebox light switch / bulb wire seems to be hard wired to the switch receptacle. I would like to dissconnect it without cutting the wire. These items pertain to a 69 Malibu convertible .
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks
John

Hi Johnny,

The antenna does not have to be separated from the grommet. There's no special tool. It should just push out of the door jamb. Remember, it's most likely been in there for 33 years untouched, so it may be kind of stuck there; may require a little finesse to get it popped out.

I believe the glove box light can be removed without cutting the wire. As I recall, it involves disassembling the socket assembly somewhat - but don't hold me to that http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Hopefully someone else can come to the rescue here.........

Thanks bill, I am learning to be more aggressive. The ant. cable came out with the help of a screwdriver , and closer examination of the glove box light revealed the chrome cap could be pried off. Thanks again.
