I stumbled across this classic car dealers website (www.classicmusclecars.com (http://www.classicmusclecars.com) ). They are located in Wauconda, IL. Their main page caught my eye since it has a 70 Chevelle on it. From the looks of their inventory, they seem to have the market cornered on '70 LS-5 convertibles! Anyone know this dealer? Are they on the up & up? I find it a bit hard to swallow that there are this many "legit" LS-5 verts in one place...although I have to admit I haven't taken the time to fully scrutinize any of them yet...
Just curious.

I have never bought from them, nor know anyone that has, but I have visited their site over the years. They do a pretty good job with their videos. If the car has documents and paper work they often explain and show them on the video. They spend time detailing out the cars, locate correct parts and replace if missing before selling. Like anything else, check the numbers, and if real serious take a flight there to check it out first. You could always pay someone to check it out for you too.

I have dealed with em more than once great folks , their money is very good . I have a gentleman in Heber Springs Ar. that buys cars from me & sells them up north . This is one of his strong repeat buyers . I have dealed with him for years I could very easly go around him & just sell them direct , but I don`t out of respect. I let him make his comisssion & all of us are happy

There are some members in IL who don't hold the place in high regard. I'm not "sold" on them either. About a year ago they had a 70 Malibu 400 and had a total BS story about the car being special order and that it had to be built in Arlington because that's where the SO cars were built. They went so far as to advertise the car as a "1 of 1" when in all likelihood there were nearly 500 cars built with the particular engine trans combo on this car.

They also have the market cornered on L-78 verts. They must be a repo place because the same 70 L-78's verts end up back there.

I have personally spoken with the owner. Tony is a stand up guy who really knows his chevelles. I have also frequented his showroom many a time to peruse his inventory. My next appraisal will be done by him. His restorations are done by the same guy who redid my 69 after the accident with the drunk, Performance Restorations in Mundelein, IL. You can see some of Brent Jarvis' handywork in last months HotRod magazine. I think 8 pages of the 66? vette he prostreeted. www.perf-resto.com (http://www.perf-resto.com) On another note, Jarvis also drives a 65 Malibu SS convert z-16 clone as a daily driver. Cheers, Jason.
