: My 70 Chevelle w/Iroc wheels
450HPChevelle Jan 19th, 06, 7:45 PM Heres a pic. of my Chevelle
I took these off my 87 Iroc and put them on the Velle to see what they would look like. They are 18's w/245-40's on all four corners.
I thought I'd post it here for everyone to see. :)

Jeffry72 Jan 19th, 06, 7:57 PM I like it! Where can I get a set of those wheels? 18's weren't factory were they?
450HPChevelle Jan 19th, 06, 8:48 PM Hi Jeffry,
The Irocs originally came w/16's.
I found these on E-bay. You can get them in sizes ranging from 16" to 20's
I found the "SS" emblems on E-bay as well. They are 2 1/8 in. in diameter.
Heres a pic. of the exact same wheels on my Iroc.

Have a good one!

Bowtieguys Jan 19th, 06, 9:42 PM Looks good Brian. I like it!
2k3Chevelle468 Jan 19th, 06, 11:07 PM Looks real good
Jim Mac Jan 19th, 06, 11:59 PM You know your a car nut when you change the wheels from one car to another just because. Some folks don't understand, but we do. Nice wheels! Jim
Clint44 Jan 20th, 06, 11:01 AM I understand. Wheels and ride attitude make the car,IMO.
Your 70 Looks great,Brian.
BB_Mike Jan 20th, 06, 12:08 PM Me no likey. If you step back, the wheels distract you from the car. That body style and quality of work you've done in it deserve a complimentary wheel, not a overdone wheel. Ever wonder why you see so many 80s model caprices with big wheels? because the car by itself is ugly and does not attract attention. big wheels attract attention.
For the iroc, the thickness of the body skirtings' pin-sripe compliment the thickness of the spokes on the wheels. the sharpness of the body contours also go well with it.
Not being mean. I know it was just an experiment. These are only my two cents worth.
Are those all disc brakes on the chevelle? ;)
1offwizard Jan 20th, 06, 1:20 PM I like it!!! I think they look great on BOTH cars. Why spend all that money on a car and put $200 tires and wheels on it? Doesn't make any sense to me. When's the last time you heard someone say "Thats a nice set of rally wheels you got there!"?
Both look great to me. I wonder how a set would look on my Monte?

450HPChevelle Jan 20th, 06, 5:18 PM Thanks Guys,
BBMike,
I put some of those polished stainless "dust covers" from JC Witney.
The Chevelle was in the "Street Heat" Super Chevy display at our local World of Wheels Auto Rama. I thought I'd put the wheels on for the show to give the car a little extra "Flash" :D
Jeff,
Very nice Monte.
I think the Iroc Wheels would look awesome on your Monte!
I had a black 85 Monte SS at one time. I loved the way it handled.
Thanks again! :)
Brian
SSJeff Jan 20th, 06, 5:23 PM Looks good Brian...I have been considering a set of those in the 16x8 size for my 70 just for a change once in a while.
How was the quality...the price seems very tempting!
Jeff
450HPChevelle Jan 20th, 06, 5:34 PM Thanks SSJeff,
I'm very happy with the Chrome finish on these wheels.
The price isn't bad either.I think I paid less than $800 for them. :)
Brian
artmalibu Jan 20th, 06, 6:49 PM I love the wheels!! I would like to see a rear tire that is alittle taller to fill the well. I think the wheels look better on the chevelle. Thanks for posting the pics!!!

John68 Jan 23rd, 06, 9:47 PM Are those a direct bolt on or do you need spacers?
