Hi everyone,on my 70 ss my hood sits about a 1/4 higher than the fender on the pass side.Ive tred ajusting the hinge several times.I've seen other 70-72 chevelles with this problem.Could the hinge its self be wore out,i took the back bolt closest to firewall out and hood went down and lined up perfect, but no luck with the bolt in.Any ideas its looks like crap like this.

Take your hood off and remove the hinge. It's most likely wore out but you can fix it to work. Get a die grinder and a carbide bit and slot the bolt hole allowing you to lower the hinge. Most of the time the hinge doesn't go completely into home position when you close the hood. Sometimes you can just push the hood down a lil bit at the hinge and this will cure it. Never hurts to make sure theres some grease in the hinge socket. RandyB. www.angelfire.com/ky2/mycars (http://www.angelfire.com/ky2/mycars) for chevy pics.

Thanks Red2rider,i had thought about trying to make to hole a little longer. When i shut my hood now i cant push it down any at all on that so i dont think its the spring.I will try grinding out the hole and/or getting different hinges. Thanks
