I hope to find some books to help me identify original part numbers used on Chevy's 6-cyl. engines from the sixties. An equivalent to the Chevrolet By The Numbers books (which are only for V-8 engines) would be great. Any books for rebuilding engines to stock specifications would also be good. Can anyone recommend anything? Please see my ad in the 1966 "parts wanted" section, if you have any 230 engine parts or engine-mounted A/C parts for sale.

For casting #s, check www.inliners.org (http://www.inliners.org/) and check down the left-hand side of the selection menu for the casting #s link.
Here’s an inline six power manual from Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1931128154/103-3232262-3535839?v=glance&n=283155 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1931128154/103-3232262-3535839?v=glance&n=283155)
Or a different book on hopping the Chevy L6:
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/aspx/dept_id.258/display_id.2830/qx/product.htm (http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/aspx/dept_id.258/display_id.2830/qx/product.htm)
Besides Clifford Research, who’s link was provided by Gene (427L88) previously, also check out
www.stoveboltengineco.com (http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/) for inline six performance stuff.
