Does anyone have a way to remove tree sap without compound buffing? I've got tree sap on my car and it's almost as if it's baked on. Very small specs on the paint and small bumps. Strong car wash or even dish detergent don't do a thing to it.
Can anyone help with a way of getting it off?
Thanx, Doug

I'll bet some of that Mothers clay bar will take it off without a lot of labor. My wife's Harley had overspray all over it from who knows what and washing the bike didn't work on that either. I used the clay bar and the spray wax in the kit and took it all off.
I bought the kit at Murrays which is an auto parts store but you shouldn't have any problems finding it. Costs around $16.00

I would say a clay bar should do the trick, at least try it first before using something more aggressive.

Try acatone. Used it on the deck of my boat, followed with a polish and wax job.

Mineral spirits is pretty tame. Shouldn't hurt the paint at all. Unless you have un-cured or non-hardened cheap enamel. Should lift it after a 20-30 second soaking. Just be sure to clean with dtergent afterwards and lay on some wax.

The clay bar is the best way to go. It is no wonder one brand is called "Clay Magic", it does work like MAGIC. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
