Somewhere along the line, my 65 was converted to disc brakes from a 71 monte carlo. I`m guessing they used the booster and master as well. The pedal seems to have alot of travel before I get pressure to the brakes. Is it possible that the rod length is wrong or do I have some other problem? On my old 69 SS elky, it had disc brakes and as soon as you touched the pedal, there was pressure. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Anthony, besides bleeding the brakes, remove the two nuts holding the M/C to the booster and pull the M/C forward about an inch. Look at the pin coming out of the booster. Does it protrude only about 3/8-1/2 inch or about 1 1/4 inch. Then check the plug in the back of the M/C, does it have a shallow dimple for the pin or a deep hole. If the pinin the booster is short and the hole in the M/C is deep, then you will get alot of pedal movement before the pin seats and starts moving the pistons in the MC.

Thanks Jim. I already bled the brakes but did`nt notice any difference. I`ll have to check on the pin length. Thanks for the info.
