: Help! Where to find A/C compressor big block Brackets
A70LS5 Jan 18th, 06, 12:08 PM I have looked everywhere I can think of for several days now with no luck, anybody out there know where to get the front and back brackets to mount the compressor to the the block and manifold on a 454? I found the part numbers on an earlier post, but that is all I have found. Here are the part numbers of 1970 454 BB A/C obtained from the 1970 Chevelle Assembly Instructions:
Bracket-RR.: 3969911
Support-RR.: Bracket: 3969912
Support-FRT.: 3969917
Bracket-FRT.: 3969916
Brace: 3969910

A70LS5 Feb 4th, 06, 11:31 PM I've been watching and looking and asking everyone I know. Had lots of leads on ebay, but always ended up being for other years and after seeing them they didn't look much like the ones in the diagram I have in my chassis service manual. Found one of them (the big one, 3969917, seems pretty common to find), also got a lead thursday on a set that I'm checking out. If it works out, i'll let you konw. As soon as I tell people 70 chevelle big block, they always seem to laugh. Some have said that a 74 to 78 big block suburban has the same ones, but I have yet to verify that lead. I have now resorted to just asking pick n pull places for the part numbers (see earlier in this post). I sure hope they are the right ones.
69_454_elky Feb 6th, 06, 4:14 PM Sounds like you want stock brackets, but if not, these guys have a few. I have the 122L - AC for my 69 EC and they fit fine.

stroobydoo Feb 9th, 06, 10:15 AM I don't know if you found the brackets you were looking for but I have 3969917, 3969910, and two others that mount directly to the compressor that I can't find any numbers on. If you need them let me know.
1badss396 Feb 9th, 06, 12:45 PM I just found 5-7 sets NOS BB ac brackets like these.

I dont know what they are worth I can ask the guy that has them how much he wants for them. The last set of BB brachets I had looked different than the ones above. The ones below were the last set I had for a BB long water pump.

And this was the last set I had for a BB short water pump style below.
