I'm doing some work on a '68 camino. Although the car is an original So. Cal machine, there's still a little rust on the lower rear window channel. Mostly just some blistering. I went ahead and bought a patch panel from OPG but now that I look at the area more closely, I think I might be able to treat it with jelly and just lead it in. Any thoughts on this? Just seems like it would be easier than cutting out a panel that is 98% good. Also, where do you get the lead. Could I just melt-down fishing weights?

I do not recommend leading unless done by a professional. Most body men will tell you that it it's not applied properly, lead is corrosive and can cause worse problems down the road.
If the rust isn't too bad, you may be able to use Por's floor pan repair kit provided there aren't any holes larger than pinholes. If the holes are too large, then cutting out the rust and welding in new metal is the best way to go.
