hello all
thanks for reading my post
I have a 70 chevelle that I'll be installing new rear quarters on..
where the quarter meets the rear side window there is a stip of metal that run up the rear window opening top to bottom of window opening..
that overlaps the quarter... is there a curtain way to remove that piece so the quarter can be removed without bending the he!! out of that stip of metal..
I am installing full rear quarters. they go to the roof line..

thanks again for your time and help with this...

Is the pice I think you are talking about part of the drip flange? Regardless, areas like this are best cut around with a cut off wheel and left in place until you can get to the back side and see where the spot weld is. Once you get the majority of the quarter out of your way you can see so much more. When the spot welds are located you can then drill them out until the piece can be separated from the remaining section of the quarter.
