I guess you would need the bung for the O2 sensor and the computer.
Has anyone tried this?
I have an 86 Chevy truck with a bad motor.
A friend would like to convert his 350 to TBFI from a carb.
I told him I didn't think the fuel mileage would be any better and
the performance would prob be the same also.
Any thoughts on that?
thanks

I thought '87 was the first year for TBI. I learn something every day...
You'd need everything from the manifold gaskets up, and of course the computer, harness, and all the sensors, and a fuel pump that's compatable with TBI.
Be aware of the bolt-angle differences on the newer smallblocks. You'll have to screw with it to get it to fit on an older (pre-'86???) set of heads because of the center two bolts on each side. There are angled washers you can use in combination with oversize bolt holes in the manifold, if that's an issue.
The GM TBI manifold apparently has some serious mixture-distribution problems. I'm told the front cylinders run lean.
I have an '88 with the TBI. The power isn't all that great. Runs nice 'n' smooth, but the economy isn't that great either. Seems like a lot of work for very little payoff.

I was sort of thinking the same thing about the payoff.
That truck only got 13 mpg no matter what.
Pulling a trailer, or empty.
BTW, the truck is an 86. Sorry to have mislead. That was a long time ago ;)
I think that was the first year for the new body style (fall of 86, 87's were out), which I didn't like at the time so I stuck with the old one.
