I have a block that I have scuffed and marine cleand. Ready to paint with POR 15 Chevy orange. The POR 15 looks a little dark in the can. What's going to work the best,as far as spray versus brushing. Best looking orange and adhesion and peeling in the future? Thanks Steve

Well, I don't really know much about POR-15, but I have used Dupli-Color black spray paint on cylindar heads, water pumps, etc. and it seems to chip pretty easily and rust does seem to show through some things if you don't coat it enough, but as far as heat, I've used it on brake drums and still looks new. All I can say is if you go the spray bomb path, make sure you do multiple coats.

You can use the Preval sprayers and spray the block and heads and intake, and brush it on the sheetmetal parts like the valve covers and oil pan. It's thin enough and flows well enough so that brush marks do not show up.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BREATHE ANY POR OVERSPRAY!! If you don't have one already, invest in a good respirator. Not a dust mask or particle mask, but a good respirator with replaceable cartridge filters. Por 15 plays hell on the respiratory system.

I bought the por-15 engine paint kit a couple of years ago.Its a 3 or 4 step process. Follow the directions and you'll be very pleased with the results! smile.gif P.S. I used a cheap spray gun from a hardware store and didn't have any problems. smile.gif

DupiliColor is junk.... go with the POR if you want a rock hard finish.
