Anythoughts on putting a 1970 front bumper on a 1971 (El Camino) and replacing the turn signals with fog lamps instead? I'd like to see better at night at high speed.

What is the dimension of the light or the opening in the bumper?

I don't know if that's easily possible. The top of the 70 bumper is flat while the corners of the 71/72 bumper turn up. The 70 bumper should interfere with the grille on a 71 I would think. Either that or you mount it lower to accommodate the grille and end up with a big gap at the corners of the headlight extensions.

After closer inspection you are all correct, it wouldn't work without complicated fabrication. I will stick with a stock bumper and maybe look into getting a fiberglass bumper that can be drilled and cut to get foglights in. The aim is to keep it stock looking, not like some kind of freak hack job.
