Need a little help here. Trying to decide between the Torq Thrust II and the D for a 69 ElCamino. The local shop gave me a 15x8.5 Torq Thrust D to check clearance. I now have 15x8 rallies, 3.75 backspace, the D and II also the same backspace. I have no issuses with my rally wheel rubbing. Always wanted the D, but the extra 1/2 inch may be a problem. The Torq Thrust II is only 8" wide, so I will not have a clearance problem. Here's my issue. From pictures I've seen, the spokes on the II just don't look as beefy as the D. Like the guy at the speed shop said, it will just show off my stock brakes more than I wanted. I don't know if he can get the II for me to see, he said one wheel, no problem. Anyone else think the II just doesn't look as mean as the D? I like both, just want a couple opinions. Thanks.

How about the Torq Thrust Original (TTO)? That's what I decided on for my elky. It has a natural aluminum finish on the straight spokes. Not painted dark gray like the D.

I like those also. What size wheels and tires do have? Nice Elky, too. Mine should be done mid spring.

With a TT D's one-piece construction, you're stuck with an undesireable backspace. The TT II's or Originals are two-piece which allow you many backspace options.
A 15x8 TT D wheel with only 3.75" backspace is going to limit your options.

TTO's are also one piece with backspacing limited to 3.75" on 15x7's and 8's. My rear tires are 255/60.....fronts are 215/70. Clearance is fine all around.
