blaauboer Jan 13th, 06, 4:45 PM milestone....Whats your combo ?
bracketchev1221 Jan 13th, 06, 4:49 PM Very pretty car. The 850 might be a little small for an all out race motor of that size but I feel that the 4150 series works the best on a street driven car. The dominators seem to be too lazy for around town driving. I ran an 850 with the choke tower removed on my 427 and it ran great. I still have it in case I put mine back on the street, but maybe a 1000 hp might be better or send it to Pro systems and have him work it for your engine. He did the 1050 on my 548 now and the thing was dead on when it was dynoed.
Yellow68SS Jan 13th, 06, 5:13 PM Get a proform body for your 850, i picked up alot more then i thought on my 850, like 6 MPH:thumbsup: .
Since Holly owns Proform, like everything else, i'm pretty sure it is just like an HP main body and turns it in to a hp 1000.
Right now i have a Prosystems 1000

bigdog454 Jan 13th, 06, 7:33 PM A Chuck Nyutten re-worked 850 double-pumper flowing just over 1000CFM. Does anyone know if Chuck is still around?
Bob West Jan 13th, 06, 8:59 PM 950HP, tried a PS 1000HP a couple times so far, worth .04 the first at track swap, .02 the next time. My best mph is 122.28 n/a, and ran it with both carbs on two separate visits. Will probably try again this spring with more converter, just to see what happens.
Bomber '67 Jan 13th, 06, 9:46 PM Kyle, as far as I know Proform and Holley are separately owned - unless I was asleep when they got together. In many ways it seems like the aftermarket has an aftermarket.
I run a list #8896 Holley 1050 Dominator, a really old one. I'm pretty sure that I would run just about the same with a good 850. Mostly I am using this carb just because I already had it.

Doug F. Jan 13th, 06, 10:24 PM Holley doesn't own Proform.
However, they now sell their own HP main body as an upgrade to compete against Proform which is an overseas copy.
I'd look at the 1000HP.
maddog71 Jan 13th, 06, 10:56 PM big dog ,yes chuck is still around as he is only about 15 minutes from me.though everybody i know says his stuff is a little on the rich side but say they dont really have too many complaints.:D i cant hardly wait to get out and make some passes:beers:
ezst70 Jan 13th, 06, 11:09 PM I use a Dominator built by Book Racing in Frankfort Il. It works as good as a 4150 when i cruise it into town, and works flawlessly on the track. It is big enough to support 740 hp at 8700 on motor and 1400 on spray. I would say it works better thatn any 4150 or Demon style i've ever had.

Maybe they don't, but i called the number on Proforms website and Holly answered......I said that i meant to call Proform and thay said "Ya, thats us now" so i could be mistaken.
blaauboer Jan 14th, 06, 1:11 PM Thanks everyone......I will look into Pro Systems.
