Put in new core support bushings - 72 velle. You can clearly torque down on the bushing and I would suspect flatten the thing out - obviously rendering it useless. So, how much do I tighten it down? Or is it actually dependent of insuring a proper alignment of hood, fenders, etc..

The hood is off as I just finished the winter project of cleaning down the frame and engine compartment...a miserable job lying on your back for two months of weekends...though after a coat Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator for a primer, and then Chassis Black...for a complete rookie....it looks sweet. I was the knucklehead who gave you guys a good yuk about sandblasting! what a mess (http://www.chevelles.com/forum/ultimatebb.php/topic/3/12293.html)

Anyone???....I went to my assembly manual and noted that most body/frame bushings are torqued to 30-45 lbs...thoughts?

I did notice in the assembly manual that you use shims to align the fenders properly. I would guess that 35-40 would be good, that's where I put mine. Then I loosened them and shimmed them. Then loosened them and shimmed them. Took several tries to get it right, of course I didn't know what I was doing.

I thought there was a metal sleeve in the center of these, the bolt tighens up against this, leaving the bushings properly compressed?

Not the rad bushings, they're just a rubber cup with a washer on the top. Ijust did them on my "71, I tightened till they "looked" right.
