I'm looking at a M-20 according to the numbers on side of 3885010 but I noticed the speedometer plug in is on right side of housing. When I convert from TH350 which has it on the left side will the cable reach? Is this the norm for a muncie with speedometer hook up on right side for a 69 Chevelle?

you will have to change the cable, I dont think you can reach the speedo connection point on the muncie without a longer cable..its pretty close though. I converted to M22W and the old cable wouldnt make it.

On Muncies only, the speedo fitting switched from the driver to the passenger side in 65---------------------------------EXCEPT for some Ponts (such as GTO) which kept the driver side speedo fitting until about 70.
So, to answer your question, yes, it is normal for a 69 Chevelle (only way they came).
Will your driver side speedo cable reach over to the pass side? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe, but not likely.
If you have a speedo shop in your area, they can make up an "extension" cable for you to whatever length you specify. Also, at one time you could buy extension cables for parts stores such as NAPA.

You could look for a Muncie with the 429 tail extension if you didn't want to change the cable. This tail will have the speedometer drive on the left side and your cable would be just right.
