I'll have to get more but my projects are all, well, projects. Here is my '48 Chevy truck as it was a few years ago. I have had it since 1974. This picture was from around 1995 and it had a mid engine. Yes, a MID engine Buick 401 mounted between the seats. Well, sort of under the seats, with the carb between them. http://members.aol.com/buickfam/mytruck.jpg

Here is the truck today with a Camaro front clip and the cab sectioned 2 1/2 inches along with the 4" chop. It will be much lower in the back with an early sixtys look.

This is my wifes Skylark. She drove it daily from about 1990 till last about five months ago when we replaced it as her car with a Ford Windstar Minivan (come on now, I have a family. It does have 16x7 Custom wheels on it http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif)

This is my Gran Sport, it's apart too. I have had it for about 15 years and started a cosmetic restoration about two years ago. It is now waiting for paint with the jambs, and all underhood done, new windshield and many new parts waiting.

I didn't think you would be interested in my '72 Bug, it is waiting paint too, sitting in red urethane primer and a garage full of new goodies for it, including fully polished EMPI eight spokes.

I have a 55 year old home and two little ones under 5 years old to take all of my "garage time" now a days.
I sure hope to get a photo posted in the not to distant future of the Gran Sport done. I REALLY miss driving it every day. I started it up and pulled it out of the garage the other day for the first time in about a year. It started with about one turn of the crank and roared into life. It has a pretty radical cam and just sounded SWEET. It has a TH400 and 3.36 Posi with the stock 401, well stock except the headers, cam, and an 800 CFM Thermoquad. It's best was a 13.88@99.99 as it sits, well with the rest of it put together. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

That truck is just bitchin! The Skylark has great lines. I don't think I can remember seeing one in the last 25 years. There must not be too many of them? I wouldn't mind having one of those with air bag suspension and some big hoops. Add an overdrive trans and AC and I'd be really happy.
I'm sure the Gran Sport is going to be looker. Looks like a bright yellow? Is that the original color?

I can relate with the family stuff. I have two girls, 2 1/2 and 6 years old. I really have to get lucky to work on my cars un-interupted if at all. That's why I spent 3 weeks vacation to do the 65 I have. Otherwise, it would take two years!
Remeber the paint issue I E-mailed? I went to the store and figured out what might have happened; New guy mixing paint. 1 quart chart on top, 1 gallon chart below. He mixes the colors with the quart chart and since the binder is at the bottom, assumes the rest is binder. He fills the rest of the gallon can with binder. One quart worth of pigment and 3 quarts pure binder! Don't know for sure, but sure did mess me up! Thanks for the pics. Enjoyed them!

MartinSr,

That truck is really nice! So are the Buicks you have. As for the VW, I would have like to seen it too- they're cool cars http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif. Oh well- as an aside- your '65 conv. isnt primed with red Tint/PRime is it? If so, MAN that almost looks like a paint joB!

Again, nice cars and thanks for all your super advice. PLease post when you complete your video. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Jimmy, thanks, the Skylark is rather common. The Gran Sport on the other hand is pretty rare. It is the same car as the Skylark but with the 401 motor, and a shopping list a mile long of little things. My Convertible was made in the second week of production right here in Fremont where I live (so was the Skylark). It is an original triple black car! I was giving the car to my 18 year old son (that is another story) and he wanted it red. The car was yellow when I got it. The red is Tint/PRIME. There was only about 2200 convertibles made with 1426 being automatics like mine. My brother had a factory 4 speed car, that was one of 598.

The sixties "A" bodies are just the best all around cars ever made I feel. That little Skylark has did everything I have ever asked it to do. I have put over 150,000 miles on it in the last 10 years and it has never missed a beat. Towed a camp trailer, gets great gas milage, just a wonderful car.

Your paint problem is a B&^$&, man that sucks. I hope they have the business sense to give you some free product ( a lot more than just the paint!).

JU87, thanks, Yeah, I have always loved VW's they are like cars from 1930s. Mine is stock and will be the original bright orange color.
That is Tint/PRIME, and the newer Tint/PRIME had a formula change that makes the colors even brighter. I love the stuff, I will paint right over it and the color covers like mad! If it gets chipped, the chip will be red too.
