Ok, I have a question I need answered. I have 396 with the large flywheel for the 11" clutch setup.
When I got the motor it had a 1108418 8L4 starter with the stagered bolt only, which a Nov 1968 date. I found a correct coded starter with 1107365 7C8, which is a March 1967 date. This 1967 start has both staggered bolt holes and the straight across holes.
On a 1967 SS 396, which is the correct starter nose for the 11 inch setup?
Did they change the iron nose from 67 to 69?
